PRAY FOR ME SOMEBODY by Tiffany Buckner-Kameni

The crying out of someone in the grips of Satan, trying to break free.  Trouble at home. Trouble at work. Troubled from within. We see it all the time. We experience it sometimes. But, one thing that I have yet to understand is why some of us ask everyone that we see to pray on behalf of our situation. Sure, it is good to get a three fold cord going. As a matter of fact, I advise it because that is a strong line of defense that the devil has trouble getting through.

BUT, ARE WE TO ASK EVERYONE?

The more that I have been walking in the Light, the more that God exposes to me. One thing that He has shown me time and time again is the hearts of many that claim to be men and women of God. In the beginning of my transition from milk to meat, it grieved me. Father God would allow me to meet individuals who claimed to be of and from God, yet, they would eventually began to display the venom in their hearts. Some had gotten so casual with God, that they obviously forgot Who He is.

It is for that very reason that we are not to ask everyone to pray for us. Everyone is not walking in God's Light. Everyone is not praying to the same God. Everyone's heart is not right to go before the Lord. The bible tells us that Father's face is against the wicked. Well, you say, "She's not wicked! She is the righteousness of God! I saw her fall out in the pews on Sunday." Remember this. God wants us to walk using the guidance of our spiritual eyes and not our physical ones. Your physical eyes can lie to you. What? Have you ever seen a mirage? Have you ever thought you seen something or someone? It has been said that your eyes are the window to your soul. Did you know that you can break a window? In other words, you have to trust the Spirit from within you and stop questioning the Holy Ghost.

How do one know who is right and who is wrong? How can I distinguish who to ask to pray for me or my loved ones and who not to do so? Let me start with a quick testimony. Growing up, my immediate family was Baptist. Now, don't get me wrong, there are some Holy Ghost filled Baptist churches in the world, I am just not a religious person, so I prefer to serve God without the cover of religion. Anyhow, I can remember the list of the sick and shut in. My my, my..sometimes the list was greater than the physical bodies present. The Reverend would finish off reading his long list with a request for everyone to pray for these individuals. Now, here is where some feet are stepped on, however, God is glorified.

IS IT NOT TRUE THAT A HUGE NUMBER OF THE CONGREGATION IS SEEKING DELIVERANCE? OR SOME OF THEM ARE BOUND WITH A RELIGIOUS SPIRIT, SINNING FROM MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY, BUT BELIEVING THAT BY SHOWING UP TO CHURCH ON SUNDAY, THEY ARE MADE RIGHTEOUS AGAIN. THEY USE THE CHURCH THE SAME WAY RHAT WE USE A CAR WASH. HAVEN'T YOU NOTICED, CLEAN CARS FOUND ALONGSIDE THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWY, OBVIOUSLY NOT WORKING. BECAUSE WE PUT TOO MUCH EMPHASIS ON WHAT IS SEEN AND LITTLE ON WHAT IS NOT SEEN. BACK TO THE POINT...IF SOME ARE SERVING RELIGION, NO MATTER HOW MUCH THEY SCRAMBLE ACROSS THE CHURCH, NO MATTER HOW MANY TEARS FLOW FROM THEIR EYES, THEY ARE BLINDLY WORSHIPPING A MAN MADE DISTRACTION, RATHER THAN WORSHIPPING GOD. AS SUCH, WHO ARE THEY PRAYING TO? AND YOU JUST ASKED THEM TO PRAY FOR YOU.

Remember these scriptures in Matthews 7:21-23, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Our Lord is clearly displaying to us that everyone that says that they are His, are not. Everyone that 'appears' to do marvelous works in the name of Christ, are not. And being as such, how are we to go before these individuals bearing our very soul and asking them to pray for us? Then, once they have, we wonder why our situation seems to get worse and worse.

Saints, there is malice in the church. Everyone does not love you because everyone does not love Christ. Some are robotic worshippers, trained to worship, so they do this by memory. It's like saying their ABC's. It is for these reasons that Father does not want everyone praying for you. How do I know who is right and who is wrong? The answer is within your relationship with Christ. Jesus told us that His people know His voice and the voice of a stranger, they  will not follow. If we are His, we have to learn to exercise our relationship with Him. How do you began to know one's voice. By hearing them often, right? So, how will you know the voice of God, if you do not read your bible often? If you do not go before Him in prayer often? If your prayers are consistently the same, why do you believe that you are having a relationship with God. True, we say the prayer that Jesus advised His disciples, however, to have a relationship with God, we must speak to Him and allow Him to speak to us. We should speak to Him about our situations, alone and not in the presence of man. We should tell Him how me have messed up. We should ask Him what to do. We should tell our funny stories to Him. He is real. Some of you can record your prayers on an answering machine and play them every night for Him because you say the same thing over and over again. Never taking time out to spend with Him. This is why He does not know you. You have become a sounding board.

To know Him, you MUST have a relationship with Him. Consult Him about your children. Stop calling your friends each and every time a situation arises that tests your faith and call on Him. I know that it's hard, but often times, when we began to do so, you will find that He has an answer for you. Saints, He is the answer. Your life, your testimony, your problems are all the makeup of your ministry. Someone that has never suffered does NOT have a ministry. Therefore, in allowing these situations to strengthen you and your relationship with Christ, you will find that you do not have to take your problems to the retailer, you can take them directly to the Manufacturer. Get rid of the middle man. When starting your three fold cord, always be prayerful about it. Allow God to lead you. I have run into individuals that I used to ask to pray for me, only to find that they were not in agreement with me, therefore their prayer to God was against what I was asking Him for. In learning how to submit myself completely to the faith, I have come to realize that my journey is not my own, given to me as an assignment by my Father and it is not for others to direct. If you found a treasure map, would you show it and ask people to point you in the right direction? I would hope not. You would find yourself minus a map and probably bruised or even dead. That's the same thing. Father has a treasure for you and your map is your faith. Your leaders are simply a compass to point you in the right direction when you are lost. But, the true Compass is within you. You just have to learn to read it.

In short, you should stop right now and ask God to remove His enemies from your life. You would be amazed at how many of His enemies, you have befriended. Ask Him to surround you with His Chosen. Ask Him to direct you when seeking a prayer partner. Ask Him to give you the very wisdom of God to discern between the righteous and the unrighteous. To know who to ask to partner with you in prayer and who to pray for. When your problems arise, go before the Lord. If He allows, speak to individuals that are not so poisoned in their minds and souls that they have an immediate, fleshly answer. The winning answer comes from Christ and not from man. Now, in cases of intercessory prayer, if God has chosen your leader of your church home or ministry, it is good to come together in intercessory. However, be sure to bind up any tongue or judgement that comes up against you and those you are praying for.  Remember, everyone that prays, is not praying to Christ.
